Let your students show some pride and have some fun with paint! Create a space in your room where students can add their handprints as they accomplish their goals.

Activity Goal: Reward and Reinforce

Materials: Paint, open wall

INSTRUCTIONS:

Designate a wall to be used for this year’s handprints.
Establish and post criteria for earning the privilege of adding a handprint.
When the accomplishment is reached, let staffers add to the wall.

Focus on one of the four following Results (goals) and consider the suggestions in that column, or add your own!

Meeting Deadlines	Coverage
Tell staffers that this privilege is only given to staffs that meet every deadline. Add handprints and names after final deadline is met.	Create a goal for the number of students that you want to cover at least three times in the yearbook. Add handprints and names when 50% of goal is met and names when 100% of goal is met.
Selling Yearbooks	Quality Matters
Assign each student a club or sport and a sales goal for the members. The staffer can add a handprint to the wall when they’ve met 50% of their sales goal for the specific club or sports team. The staffer can add their name to the wall when they’ve met 100% of their goal.	The staffer can add a handprint when all pages have been submitted for a deadline with a completed and accurate spread checklist found in the Digital Classroom or here. The staffer can add their name if the submitted spreads require little or no editing.

ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITIES:
