NORTH ATLANTIC REGION
New England, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York

The North Atlantic Region brings together passionate educators from across our northeastern states who share a common belief: that positive school culture and climate directly impact student success. When you join our regional community, you become part of a network that extends far beyond your school walls.
The Results Speak for Themselves. Schools in our region have documented remarkable improvements: increased attendance rates reaching all-time highs, significant growth in students earning 3.0+ GPAs, improved teacher retention rates, and strengthened community relationships. These aren’t just statistics—they represent real students whose lives are being positively impacted every day.
Our region continues to grow stronger each year as more schools discover the power of intentional culture building. Many North Atlantic schools have achieved Schools of Distinction status, with some hosting their own regional Jostens Renaissance conferences to share their expertise with neighboring districts. Our region has produced multiple Hall of Fame educators and Teachers of the Year, demonstrating the caliber of educational leaders in our community.
The Bottom Line: When we focus on the Jostens Renaissance Results Formula—Respect + Recognize + Reward + Reinforce + Relationships = Results—amazing things happen. Students achieve more, educators feel valued, and communities rally around their schools. That’s not just our goal; it’s our promise to every student and educator in the North Atlantic Region.
Let’s work together to ensure every person in our schools loves Mondays!

Hi, I’m Michelle CarneyRay-Yoder, the proud superintendent of the Central Regional School District in Bayville, NJ. Before coming to Central Regional, I was the Somers Point School District Superintendent, Principal/ Director of Special Education for Margate City Schools, middle school vice-principal in Egg Harbor Township, a Learning Disability Teacher Consultant in Galloway Township, and a Special Education Teacher (LD/ ED) in Brigantine and Norfolk, Virginia, along with a paraprofessional in Norfolk, Virginia. In addition to my educational experience, I also serve as an adjunct professor at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey (Master’s level teacher education/ administration), along with previous basketball coaching experience at the middle, high school, and Division III levels.
Before starting my educational career, I was a Division I basketball player on a full scholarship at The College of William and Mary (Williamsburg, VA). Playing against the powerhouses of women’s college basketball created a great sense of preparation, patience, and teamwork, and it was an incredibly formative influence that I brought to my position in Central Regional.
This drive led me to continue my education and complete a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Old Dominion University (Norfolk, Virginia) and a Master’s Degree and Doctorate in Educational Administration at Widener University (Chester, PA). I am so excited to be the Renaissance Champion for the North Atlantic!
