The School Culture Survey
Measure What Matters
Rooted in the idea that when it feels good to be at school, students are more likely to thrive and educators are more likely to love their jobs, this School Culture Survey was created to help schools identify aspects of their culture that are excelling and areas that could use some love. This survey:
- Offers a 360-degree view of your school culture by gathering authentic perspectives from students and Staffulty.
- Takes 10-12 minutes to complete on desktop or mobile.
- Yields insightful data, actionable recommendations and suggested resources for your school.

The School Culture survey can be given to students and Staffulty to gauge their perceptions in six key areas impacted by culture:
How it feels to be in school
Academic effort is recognized broadly and deeply
Acting with integrity is encouraged and recognized
Staff and faculty enjoy their work environment
Recognition and reward are seen as motivational
People feel seen, heard and appreciated
How it Works
- Initiate the survey process by clicking on the button below to provide basic information, including timing.
- Share the provided survey links with students and/or Staffulty.
- Receive customized reports that include high-level themes, detailed data and recommended resources in each of the six key areas.
Survey Questions
The survey includes “How much do you agree or disagree?” statements for each key area, such as the following:
- Our school has a supportive and respectful vibe
- All kinds of students are frequently and publicly recognized
- In general, teachers and staff see and listen to students
- The importance of graduation is reinforced through our school culture
- In general students treat each other with kindness
- Staff and faculty receive recognition when they deserve it
The survey also includes several open-ended questions including:
- If you were to define our school’s climate and culture in one word, what would it be?
- What’s one thing that makes it feel good to come to our school?
- What’s one thing that could make it feel better to come to our school?
There will be an option to add up to five Likert scale “strongly agree to strongly disagree” statements and up to five open-ended questions. Click on the Request Survey button for more details and sample questions.
