Each region is led by a champion, a volunteer educator who has seen the power of Renaissance in their school. Educators in each region share ideas and successes with one another through Facebook Groups and a monthly email newsletter. 

Mendi Camacho is a teacher at DeLand High school in Florida where she teaches Psychology, IB Psychology, Leadership, and Renaissance class. She has her degree in psychology from the University of Central Florida. She has been teaching at DeLand High for 26 years. She was honored with being selected as Teacher of the Year in 2017. She has been sponsoring Renaissance for 23 years and also sponsors Student Government Association, Leadership, Interclub Council, Spirit Club, and Latinos in Action.
