Louis Lambert

National Renaissance Student of The Month: Louis Lambert

This month’s National Renaissance Student of the Month is Louis Lambert from South View Middle School in Minnesota. Nominator Betsy Madson wrote:

As an 8th-grade Unified Leader at our school, Louis supports students who need extra assistance integrating into the classroom.  He demonstrates maturity beyond his years, creating a comfortable and inclusive environment for everyone. If you mention Louis Lambert to any staff member they will respond with boundless praise. Louis particularly shines in his work with non-verbal students. His calm and patient demeanor is remarkable. Louis makes the time on weekends to spend time with his peers with disabilities. He recently went bowling and out to lunch with two peers on a Sunday. Last fall, he went trick or treating with another student who has cerebral palsy. Not only does his personality shine inside of school, but further out of the classroom. Unified students consistently choose Louis as their partner for weekly community outings, a testament to the strong connections he builds. He encourages his peers to try new things and never gives up, fostering their self-confidence. One of Louis’ friends Max shared the following: “Louis waits with me every day after school for my mom or dad to pick me up. That makes me feel happy!” Louis is a true friend to everyone, whether he’s playing basketball, playing in the band, or dancing at the Unified Red Carpet event. He embodies the qualities of a confident and model student.
