Your Renaissance Champion, Mendi Camacho
MEET YOUR RENAISSANCE CHAMPION
Renaissance Champions lead their region with a philosophy fueled by passion, positivity, and the belief that culture and climate change everything. In addition to supporting their Renaissance Ambassadors and other educators in their region, they spark joy, recognize greatness, and create environments where teachers love their jobs and students thrive in school.
Mendi Camacho is a teacher at DeLand High School in Florida where she teaches Leadership and Critical Thinking. She has her degree in psychology from the University of Central Florida. She has been teaching at DeLand High since 1997, and was honored with being selected as Teacher of the Year in 2017. Mendi has been sponsoring Renaissance since 2000 and also sponsors Student Government Association, Leadership, Interclub Council, and Spirit Club in addition to being the Champion of the Southeastern Renaissance Region. She was inducted into the Jostens Renaissance Hall of Fame in 2025.
