Materials: Pinwheels
Space Required: Storage for pinwheels and a place to display them, like a lawn or bulletin board
Cost: $100
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Obtain needed permissions for the pinwheel display
- Purchase or create pinwheels.
- Explain the activity to either your Staffulty or student leaders who are in charge of handing out the pinwheels.
- Each time an act of kindness is displayed, give them a pinwheel for them to sign. Here are ideas of random acts of kindness:
- Starting a conversation with someone new or not well-known
- Delivering care baskets to a charity or senior home
- Campus litter cleanup
- Donating to a food bank
- Helping a teacher with a task
- Writing a note
- Tutoring a peer or helping someone with their homework
- Place the pinwheel in a public space like a lawn or a staple to a large bulletin board.
ADDITIONAL IDEAS & OPPORTUNITIES:
- Create a form for self-reporting acts of kindness. Let people be proud of the good things they do and recognize them for it!
