Coming to a new school can be a very hard transition. Help ease the anxiety with giftbags full of encouragement and advice to help them feel like they belong to your school community.
School Type: Elementary school, middle school, high school (1-12)
Activity Goal: Build relationships
Prep Time: 2 – 3 hours
People Required: One Staffulty member, student leadership team or leadership class
Timing: Summer and anytime a new student arrives to campus
Materials: Cardstock, paper or cards for letters, pens or makers, small cheap paper bag with handle, book marks, pens, highlighters, candy, ribbon & tissue paper in school colors and (optional) school spirit wear.
Cost: Less than $10 per bag

INSTRUCTIONS:
- Have students write welcome letters and make copies.
- These can be personalized or general.
- Roll them up like a scroll and tie ribbon around them based on school colors.
- Have students brainstorm top 5 tips for surviving middle school and print on card stock
- Have students design an affirmation card (we recommend five affirmations) and print on card stock
- Place the notes items in the bag along with a book mark, highlighter, pen, small candy and, if budget allows, a piece of school spirit wear.
