Abigail Goy

National Renaissance Staffulty of the Month: March – Abby Goy

This month’s National Renaissance Staffulty of the Month is Abby Goy from LaSalle-Peru Township High School in LaSalle, IL. Her nominator Andrea Eichelkraut wrote:

Mrs. Goy is highly deserving of being recognized as the National Staffulty Member of the Month. For one, everything she does is with the Staffulty and students’ best interest in mind. Recently, she revived our school’s Environmental Committee after a two year hiatus where nobody had stepped up to lead. Environmental Committee is the Staffulty equivalent of Renaissance. This group organizes many activities that help boost staff morale and improve the climate and culture among Staffulty. Some Environmental Committee activities include a Staffulty digital cookbook, BINGO, and more. Additionally, Mrs. Goy has volunteered her time to help with Renaissance. As a highly creative and organized individual, she has helped create display cases and is learning how we organize larger events like our Tireless and Staff awards, Student of the Month, and more. We are lucky to have such a positive influence and leader at LaSalle-Peru High School.

How long have you been involved with Renaissance?

Two years.

What’s a favorite Renaissance moment for you?

I have always enjoyed our fall and spring Renaissance rallies. In 2019, I was awarded our second-semester Tireless Award during our spring rally. I also love our Student of the Month Breakfast to recognize students’ successes.

How has Renaissance impacted your school’s culture?

Renaissance impacts our school culture daily in big and small ways by creating opportunities for all students to be involved. I love to see students proudly displaying their earned incentive cards in their IDs.

How has Renaissance affected you personally?

Personally, Renaissance has allowed me to give back to my school. I love getting to work with different staff members and students to create a positive school environment.

What advice would you give to someone just starting with Renaissance?

The best advice I would give is to get involved in the Renaissance community as much as you can and try new things in your school.

Abby will receive a tote bag and a lapel pin in recognition of her achievement.
